Hello
and Welcome to my Web Page for Employment: I am currently a senior Academic All-Ivy athlete at Yale University, majoring in history. I have consistently demonstrated that I can get the job done and will give you all my energy and effort doing so. As a 4-year member of the Yale Varsity Field Hockey team, I have experienced the importance of teamwork, time management, and perseverance. As part of a Division One athletic program, I have successfully dealt with high pressure situations, managed various relationships and leadership roles, and have gained invaluable experience regarding communication, intrapersonal skills, and organization. I have worked hard to gain a spot on the Academic All-Ivy Team (those with a varsity letter and GPA higher than 3.3) as I balanced rigorous academics and an all consuming athletic program over my four years at Yale. The time I have spent on the field and the important lessons I have taken away from it will carry over to the work place. From the age of 15, I have worked both in the office and on the road, including overseas for Sport EuroTour, a small, nationally recognized, international sports business that focuses on travel programs in the USA and abroad. My last two summers I’ve led groups of US teenagers on a multi-cultural travel program through Spain and was the youngest person to ever lead a program for them. At this high energy company, I have developed business and leadership skills, which I hope to use in a fast paced, goal driven environment. I have completed extensive coursework focused on screenwriting, libretto writing (with Broadway renowned and Tony nominated lyricist Michael Korie) and film and musical theater development in both Yale College and the Yale Drama Graduate School. I have written several musicals and short scripts, one of which was recently selected and appears in a Yale Screenwriting Course Packet, and I am currently working on a feature length screenplay. I will be showcasing my musical works later this semester at Yale, which I am particularly excited about. When
I am not on the field or in the library, I enjoy spending time
volunteering at local New Haven public schools. I participate in Eli
Days, where, starting last year, I mentor two high school juniors. In
what was once a program designed to help kids think about college, my
two students barely had a 6th grade reading level. As I gave them
personal attention, it was amazing to not only see their academic
growth, but their increasing excitement and confidence regarding their
reading and writing abilities. I became committed to see to their
success in an enjoyable and rewarding way, as I have with the other
children I mentor.
